Not every guy is like my dad
or, Henry outlining Hook’s character arc with Emma.
This is one of my favorite moment of the episode. There is just so much of sincerity and honesty present between them in this particular moment.
Emma Swan is a walls up person but she is letting Hook know her troubles, her worries. She is being honest with him that as much as she is happy to see him, she is not. Because her good dream was indeed just a dream and it was not real. And as much as she appreciates the reality and would rather live a real life than a life with fake memories, she just wish it was all false…whatever Hook was telling her.
And the beauty is that Hook understands that. Hook realizes that and he once again manages to make her feel good and confident without saying much but just that despite everything, her son is with her and that is what matters.
This is the kind of relationship that CS will be having in season 3B when they talk about friendship. There is no hiding anything. Emma Swan reveals what she is feeling to Hook (which she wouldn’t have been able to tell her parents or anyone else) and he once again manages to comfort her in his own way. He is not telling her that it’s alright or everything will be fine. Because he knows it won’t be but he tells her that at least there is one good thing…one good dream that is a REALITY…which is that her son is with her and that is the most important thing to her anyways.
This is just a beautiful and a mature conversation between these two. My heart just melts.
And if there is a moment, for me, that could probably convert others into being CS shippers, then it is this moment and the earthiness in it. It just reveals so much about their relationship. It talks about how freely they can tell each other what they are truly feeling: their fears, their worries, their pain. It tells us how beautifully they are able to comfort each other in a way that only they can do and no one else can because they understand each other and what the needs to hear. They are able to give each other hope just by doing this. Sharing and comforting.
I love this moment SO much. And I love them and the way Adam and Eddy are writing their love story. It’s a beautiful experience.
Here on the interwebs (Tumblr especially), surreal photography is nothing new. So it’s quite amazing when a new talented young champ stands out from the pack and creates images that garner the attention of the masses.
